His Passions

Roop Narayan Mathur – His Passions

He was a passionate reader from his early years and loved sharing stories of Sanatan Dharma with his children and grandchildren.

A true Karmayogi, he set the benchmark for those around him on being a performer of one’s duties without being attached to the results.

Strength and growth together.  Like a true Marwari family head of Rajasthan, he kept the family unit as one.  Whenever the winds of a nuclear family  lifestyle attempted to tear apart his family, with a mix of love and discipline, he convinced his big proud family to stay together as one unit.

Walking long and staying fit.  His great health even in his later stages of life, could probably be attributed to his love for long walks.  The daily walk to-from the railway station to his office was a fairly long one, and he would never replace the walk with a cab ride.   An extremely fit walker – on the birth of his last grandson, he walked over 10kms to the hospital, as the bus service was on strike, and he did not want to wait for a cab.

He was passionate about building the Mathur house.  He spent years (maybe decades), in constructing the 4 storeyed Mathur house.  With many sacrifices of sweat and blood, he fulfilled his plans of building an income generating property plus a residence for his loving sons and their families.

Like all grandfathers, he too was passionate about the success of his grandchildren.  He would spend hours in the late evening talking and playing with the little ones, doing his own little Maths and IQ tests with them, or providing the much appreciated pocket money.
